Itinerary and Overviews:

DAY 1: (Cairo)
Arrival in the Land of the Pharaohs.
At Cairo International Airport you will be welcomed and
assisted through immigration and customs by our
representative, then escorted to your hotel.

DAY 2: (Cairo
- City Tour)
Start your day with a guided tour of the Egyptian Museum where
you will find artifacts of the Pharaonic era and the
treasures of king Tutankhamen’s tomb. Drive to Old Cairo,
where early Judaism and Christianity flourished in Egypt.
Visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue and Saint Sergius Church. After
lunch, drive to the Citadel of Saladin and visit Mohamed Ali
Alabaster Mosque. Enjoy a walking tour of the largest 13th
century covered oriental market, Khan El Khalili Bazaar,
overnight at hotel. (B, L)
> DAY 3: (Cairo, Luxor - Optional Sound & Light show)
After
breakfast, transfer to Cairo airport for your flight to
Luxor. Upon arrival transfer to your Dahabeya your sailing
home on the Nile for the next 7 nights.
Relaxing in
the privacy of your inviting boat and enjoying modern
amenities, discover Upper Egypt's exceptional sites at the
rhythm of the wind. While sailing and mooring at secluded
island and Nile shores, you may have the opportunity to walk
through fields, encounter Egyptian farmers, or have a meal
in a pastoral landscape.
After lunch, excursion to the West Bank for visits to the
burial places of the Pharaohs - the Valley of the Kings -
where Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Tutankhamen in
1922. Continue to the adjacent Valley of the Queens, the
temple of Medinet Habu and the Colossi of Memnon. Overnight
moored on the Nile banks of Luxor.

> DAY 4:
Sun (Luxor)
You will visit the magnificent temple complex of Amon-Ra at
Karnak, with its vast hypostyle hall of 137 columns,
followed by the imposing 28 th Dynasty Luxor Temple.

> DAY 5:
Mon (Esna - Optional visit to Temple of Esna)
Today will be a leisurely day. After breakfast, commence
sailing to Esna where your dahabeya will moor overnight.

DAY 6: Tue (El Kab, Edfu)
Departure for El Kab and
visit the necropolis (and for those who can walk for about
2km, optional visit to the temple consecrated to Nekhbet).
Your Dahabeya will then sail to Edfu where you will visit
the Temple of Horus, the falcon-god, considered the
best-preserved temple in Ancient Egypt and the second
largest after the Temple of Karnak. Overnight beside a Nile
island. (B, L, D)

DAY 7: Wed (Kom Ombo)
Today you will sail to Kom Ombo visit see the Ptolemaic
temple dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the
falcon-headed Horus, god of the morning sun. Overnight
moored beside a Nile island.

> DAY 8:
Thu (Aswan)
A leisurely
day sailing to Aswan mesmerized by enchanting and
contrasting sceneries with the desert reaching the edges of
the western shores while palms and vast spreads of greenery
cover the East bank; All the while taking pleasure in the
Jacuzzi on deck, sipping cocktails or retreating to the
tranquil indoor library. The Dahabeya will moor overnight
in Aswan.
> DAY 9:
Fri (Aswan)
Today you will visit the Aswan High Dam (completed in 1971);
the Old Dam (completed in 1902). You will also visit the
Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, a structure
rescued from the rising waters of Lake Nasser at the time of
the High Dam's construction.

> DAY 10:
Sat (Aswan)
After breakfast,
disembarkation, and transfer to Aswan airport for your
flight to Cairo. Relax at your hotel in Cairo and enjoy the
facilities of your hotel.

> DAY 11:
Sun (Cairo - Pyramids Tours)
After breakfast, a scenic drive
will take you to the Pyramids & Sphinx of Giza, which
have stood for the last 5000 years, your visit will include
entrance to the inside of the Great Pyramids. Complete your visit at Giza with a tour of the
Solar Boat Museum. Lunch at the Mena House hotel then
continue to the ancient city of Memphis, the first
capital of United Upper and Lower Egypt then visit
Sakkara, site of the Step Pyramid of Zoser.
Evening, dinner with entertainment on board a Nile cruising
restaurant. (B, L, D)
> DAY 12:
Mon (Departure)
After breakfast, transfer to
Cairo airport for your flight back to USA.

Egypt is most
easily reached by international air to Cairo. A valid
passport is required for US and Canadian citizens to travel to Egypt.
Travelers can obtain a renewable 30-day tourist visa at any port of
entry, except at Taba and Rafah, for approximately
$16 fee, payable in U.S. dollars. Visitors arriving overland must obtain
a visa prior to arrival. For additional entry requirements, U.S.
